*WE ARE CUTTING EDGE

these things you see are not all mine,

some are old, some are new, some are borrowed, most are stolen.

there is one thing i would like to confess, that things of this world one truly cannot possess...

true significance lies with those who know me best

My America
Love it or…oooo, look! Shiny thing!

I have no fucking idea how kids do this shit everyday.  Doctors literally give out prescriptions for amphetamines like candy…  it seems like anyone who walks into a doctors office and describes to them some instance where they were “unable to focus in class” or “became distracted from their reality by the broken record that plays in their head” are given a quick diagnosis and sent off to the local pharmacy. The magic medical sanctuary where chemistry combines with pharmaceutical industry to ideally “solve” any problem you might have on a whims notice.  Our generation is full of tweaker-teenagers who use (abuse) medicines that are put in their innocent, conniving hands by doctors who operate under corporate puppetry.  Its all about selling a product, making a profit, and getting away with it all before the consumers realize  they’ve been robbed blind. The kids have no idea what they are putting into their systems, the parents remain at an even higher state of ignorance to whats going on, and everyone seems to be able to trust the doctor, who swore under his Hippocratic Oath, and should therefore be entitled your 100% trust in all matters pertaining to health.
While there is significant evidence to suggest that administration of amphetamines improve performance and well being of mentally unstable, troubled persons who actually have conditions that require medicinal dosages, it seems like the number of children who are getting these prescriptions keeps rising.  The general aura of well-being that accompanies the use of these substances makes them an appealing option for anyone who likes to be productive, responsible, and more mild-mannered.  But everything comes at a cost, and over-stimulating the central nervous system on a regular basis is not a good way to ensure yourself a happy (or healthy) rest of your life.
Other techniques should be implemented into therapies.  Whatever happened to discipline, determination, hard work, and growing up?  these things seem to have taken a back seat, and a more favorable quick fix has found popularity and rooted itself in our culture.  It just seems like everyone likes to gamble with irreversible brain circuitry, regulating organs that keep impressions from our youth for the rest of our lives.  Anyway, i really should quit ranting about things that aren’t especially pertinent to my specific situation and get some homework done.
